Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, RCSI
The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is established in 1784 which is a not-for-profit, private, internationally recognised institution based in Dublin with a mission to ‘educate, nurture and discover for the benefit of human health’. The RCSI is Ireland’s largest Medical School with almost 4,000 students representing over 60 nationalities. Its research mission is to improve human health through clinical and laboratory-based research informed by bedside problems, societal and global health challenges.
RCSI promotes innovative research that leads to improve diagnostics, therapeutics and devices, tackles important healthcare delivery issues, and enhances the quality of education of healthcare professionals.
Role in the project:
RCSI will be involved in WP2 of SUNSHINE, where the partner will contribute to physiochemical characterisation of the S&SbD-modified materials for medical applications in complex physiological fluids, with a focus on characterising the protein corona. In addition, RCSI will contribute to the stakeholder engagement, dissemination and exploitation activities of the project (WP8).
