Industrial scale case studies
Objectives
Тo demonstrate through case studies the performance of the SIA e-infrastructure and its integral components. To develop safe by material and process design and risk control strategies for MCNM-based applications and support their industrial scale implementation. To develop criteria and guiding principles for Sustainable by Design (e.g. recyclability, energy consumption).
Methodology
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be defined to assess the practical applicability and feasibility of the SIA e-infrastructure and its integral components from industrial perspective. Strategies for safer and more sustainable design of materials, products and processes involving MCNMs will be developed and implemented in the project case studies (Table 1). These materials and products will be delivered to the WP2 partners for testing, complemented by multiscale modelling (WP3) and pilot scale simulations to assess the effectiveness of the S&SbD strategies. The S&SbD-modified materials/products that are proven to be safer, functional and economically viable will be proposed for large-scale industrial implementation.
